29 tumors? They haven't got a chance against a song.

In case any one out there is in need of an enormous dose of inspiration (which includes me, because I am officially OVER this cast on my leg!), please, please, PLEASE give yourself a gift and take a few, short minutes to read this astonishing article about Zheng Cao, an against-all-odds mezzo soprano.

I am a believer.

"Early on, I said that these cancer cells have no chance in my body because every cell is already filled up with music."

Please feel free to donate to the walk taking place in San Francisco on Sunday, and then just sit with her accomplishment for a bit - makes anything seem possible, doesn't it....?

Isn't it an amazing story? I'm glad you're sharing with your readers.

BTW, I've joined you in the broken bone category, albeit not my leg...

When I start feeling sorry for myself about the bills or some other trivial thing I try to remember these ourageous people who fight on almost cheerfully. What an amazing woman. BTW - there's Flicka again like the Johnny Appleseed of feel good moments.

It would be great if you shared your personal impressions of your fantastic concert in Salzburg. You really took the audience by storm - applause turned into cheers, and enthusiasm ended in standing ovations. What a debut! Congratulations!!

I just bought Floridante, directed by Alan Curtis, with you doing Elmira. I must say that, without any doubt, you are one of the top mezzos of the day (along with Bartoli and Kozená; Podles and Mingardo are also amazing, but I don’t see them as mezzos, but as contraltos). I will buy your disc of Handel arias (I saw some reviews and all of them said your singing is beyond words).

Well, I just want to wish you a fast recovery and I hope to see you in my country, Portugal, very soon (or, at lest, in Spain).

Best regards,
Carlos Azevedo
